MILES 0-2
From the start point by the cafe/church in Glengarriff village, you will take the main N71 road to Kenmare. The first 0.1 mile will ease you into the race with a gradual incline.
The next 1 mile is flat, which will bring you to a left-hand entrance from the main N71 Kenmare road into the magnificent Glengarriff Nature Reserve. Here you will run 0.4 mile through the nature reserve on a road known locally as "The Avenue".
(Point to note: This 0.4 mile has low ramps at different intervals, so please take care.)
After this brief run in the nature reserve you will turn right to bring you back onto the N71 road again in the direction of Glengarriff and pass the 2 mile marker.
Here you run 0.2 mile gradual uphill, followed by a nice 0.1 mile downhill, staying on the left-hand side of the road at all times where you will pass the entrance on your right again into the Nature Reserve.
The next 0.6 mile is fairly flat and then 0.1 mile uphill back into Glengarriff village.
